News in brief – 8 September 2025

Suffolk Building Society has increased the loan-to-value (LTV) on its joint borrower sole proprietor (JBSP) mortgages to 90%. The society is also increasing the LTV for new build flats to 90% and removing its requirement for later life borrowers to demonstrate a minimum income of £20,000.

Hodge has added new 95% LTV mortgage options to its residential offering, as part of a move to give customers from the age of 21, with varied income types, greater access to the property market. The lender said its changes were aimed at a growing segment of customers often overlooked by high-street lenders, including customers with complex income that are older first-time buyers with limited deposits, or second steppers navigating life changes.

Square Mile, now rebranded as Titan Square Mile, has announced the launch of a new distributor model portfolio service (MPS). The move follows Titan Wealth’s acquisition of Titan Square Mile in February 2024, and marks the latest product collaboration between the two, delivering a solution that combines in-depth fund research with investment management expertise and operational scale to reduce costs and enhance client outcomes.
