News in brief – 16 September 2025

Hampshire Trust Bank has announced a series of new appointments and an internal promotion across its specialist mortgages and bridging finance divisions. Russell Harvey has joined the specialist mortgages division from Landbay, while Denis Arefyev has been promoted to senior underwriter within the specialist mortgages team. On the bridging side, Jack Unsworth has joined as underwriter from Glenhawk and has been joined by Krisha Karunananthan who has moved from Funding 365. Faith Ndebele has also joined the bridging team as underwriter, moving from TAB.

GB Bank has completed the refinancing of a residential development in the Midlands, delivering a bespoke loan to support portfolio expansion for an experienced property investor. The facility refinanced an existing loan secured against a 131-unit Multi-Unit Freehold Block (MUFB), while also releasing capital to enable the borrower to pursue further growth opportunities.

Bridging lender, SDKA, has launched its first-ever bridge-to-term product. The facility, for loans secured against residential and semi-commercial properties, is available for 36 months with the first year bridge period standing at 1% interest per month and the two-year term at 0.875% interest per month.
