News in brief - 16 January 2024

Alternative Bridging Corporation has launched a winter promotion, offering to refund valuation and lender legal fees on applications received before the end of January. As part of the promotion, a refund of up to £2024 is available to cover valuation and lender legal fees on all applications received up to and including 31 January, where completion takes place before close of business on 29 February. The firm provides bridging loans, term loans and development finance to the property industry, business community and homeowners. It also offers an alternative overdraft facility that enables customers to draw down funds as and when they need them.

Kelly Iles has joined OSB Group in the newly created role of group customer and Consumer Duty director. As part of the role, she will have responsibility for ensuring all customers across the group remain a central focus as well as supporting the businesses ambitions. Iles brings over 25 years of experience to the role, having held a number of senior roles across the financial services and energy sectors, specialising in customer experience, digital transformation and customer journey management. She will report directly to the group managing director at OSB Group, Jon Hall.

United Trust Bank (UTB) has appointed Niki Cole as its new business development manager for deposits. UTB launched its deposit solutions service in 2023 to provide a relationship-based service that helps finance departments, business heads and high net worth individuals maximise their return on their funds whilst meeting their liquidity needs. Cole brings 30 years’ experience in the banking sector, having held several senior roles including head of charities and not for profit and deposit desk manger. She joins UTB from Santander, where she worked with charities, education provider and local authorities, liaising with finance teams across the sector to ensure they were fully abreast of deposit solutions and appropriate rate information. Cole will work closely with head of UTB’s deposit solutions service, Stephanie Charsley, to develop the bank’s offering amongst businesses, charity and not for profit organisations and to manage key relationships.
