News in brief - 15 May 2024

Santander has launched a £175 cash offer for new and existing Santander UK customers, for those who switch to either a Santander Edge current account, a Santander Edge Up current account or a private current account. In order to quality for the payment, customers must complete the full switch and pay £1,500 into the new account within 60 days of requesting the switch process, set up two direct debits and continue to hold the qualifying account on the day the payment in made. New customers are able to switch online the Santander website or in brand, while existing Santander UK customers must visit a branch in order to switch.

Parmenion has appointed Kim Campbell as its new commercial development director. Reporting to chief commercial officer, Mike Morrow, her responsibilities at the adviser platform will include discovering strategic development opportunities to build Parmenion’s presence in the UK. As part of the role, Campbell will engage with national advice firms and networks to forge long-standing partnerships which will support the growth of the business. She joins from Seccl, where she was head of growth, responsible for leading the distribution team and building sales strategy, and has also worked for Origo as head of strategic partnerships.

Movera has appointed Mark Tosetti as chief executive officer (CEO) of its panel manager business, Conveyancing Alliance (CAL). He brings experience from across the sector, having worked at DLA, Capita, Optima Legal and as partnership director at Movera since 2022. Tosetti will remain in the executive team, reporting to group CEO, Nick Hale. The group rebranded from ONP Group to Movera in October, bringing together six home-moving companies, including CAL, ONP, Cavendish Legal Group, LMS and Grindeys. It has invested over £5m in technology to increase personalisation of service combining technology and the skills of over 600 people.
