News in brief - 7 February 2024

Skipton Building Society has promoted Alex Sitaras to become its new head of savings and partnerships. Having worked at the society for the last decade, he was supported the savings product development team and has had a stint as savings senior product and pricing lead. His new role will see Sitaras oversee the savings and partnerships team, where he will be responsible for delivering the objectives for savings, home insurance and life insurance. He will replace the outgoing Maitham Mohsin, who will become Skipton’s head of operations for its money division.

Countrywide Surveying Services (CSS) has announced the appointment of Steve Rayers as performance director. In his new role at the supplier of property risk management, valuations and customer surveys, Rayers will work with the technical service team to deliver support and explore future opportunities within the residential space. He is a fully qualified chartered surveyor with over 25 years’ experience in the property industry, beginning his career at Dixons Estate Agents, moving to General Accident Property Services. This was subject to a management buy-out to become e.surv, where he spent over a decade occupying a range of senior positions. He joins CSS from Legal & General Surveying Services where he held the position of surveying director for four years.

One Mortgage System (OMS) has appointed Kevin Blount as its new head of operations. He joins the single-input enquiry to completion processing platform for brokers from Clever Lending where he was director of technical operations. Blount brings over 20 years’ experience to the role, having spent eight years as a mortgage adviser at Nottingham Building Society and Clever Mortgages. In his new role, Blount will manage new integrations and development activity including the planning and development of a new business roadmap. He will also project manage new system launches for lenders and network partners.
