News in brief - 26 May 2026

Black & White Bridging has appointed Jason Shead as director of risk and governance.
Shead brings over 25 years of specialist lending risk and underwriting experience to the business after holding senior roles at Enra Specialist Finance and most recently at TAB.

His appointment follows recent announcements from Black & White Bridging about the business approaching half a billion of lending, having completed over 750 deals since launching in 2021 and the opening of its new £1m head office in Stoke Gifford, Bristol.

Specialist lender, Together, has announced the appointment of banking and commercial real estate expert James Steadman as the business expands its regional presence.

Steadman, who has nearly two decades of experience in financial services, has been appointed corporate sales director for the Midlands.

In his new role at Together he will be responsible for growing the lender’s brand and promoting its award-winning specialist products to clients and professional introducers in the region.

Loans Warehouse has announced the expansion of its specialist bridging division following a record-breaking start to 2026, with the appointment of Aled Coleman and Max Shenstone.

Shenstone joins the team bringing experience from both the lending and brokerage sides of the industry. Beginning his career at Nationwide in 2018, he later transitioned into specialist finance broking, developing extensive knowledge across bridging and property finance solutions.
Coleman also brings considerable industry expertise, having started his career in mortgage administration before gaining his qualifications and achieving competency status in 2020. His progression through the industry has given him a strong operational and advisory background within specialist lending.

Rob Lankey has been promoted to chief commercial officer at Afin Bank, overseeing the bank’s lending strategy and managing the specialist lender’s sales team.

Lankey initially joined Afin as director of credit during its launch phase last year. He then took on the role of national sales director at the start of this year, taking on responsibility for the sales team as it expanded with the appointment of a number of new BDMs.

Glenhawk has appointed Rhys Evans as business development manager (BDM).

Evans is the fifth addition to Glenhawk’s sales team since the turn of the year, demonstrating the lender’s investment in its team as it looks to achieve its ambitious growth plans. He will look after a newly created region, covering Essex, North and East London, and the Northern Home Counties.

Evans has over 13 years’ experience in specialist finance, spanning both underwriting and sales, with LendInvest and Shawbrook Bank.
