News in brief - 15 August 2025

Accord Mortgages has reduced selected rates across its residential mortgage range by up to 0.40% across a selection of purchase and remortgage products. On its three-year fix for house purchasers, rates start from 4.49% at 90% LTV with £300 cashback. Meanwhile, its two-year fixed rate for remortgagers at 80% LTV is available from 4.45%, and its three-year remortgage fix starts from 4.23% at 75% LTV, both with £500 cashback. All of these products come with a £495 fee and a free standard valuation.

Aspen Bridging has appointed Kevin Beale as its new business development manager (BDM) in the Midlands and North regions. As part of the role, he will focus on building new relationships and nurturing his existing network, as well as on deepening existing Aspen partnerships, to continue to drive steady loan book growth. Beale joins the firm from Quantum Mortgages, where he held a similar position. Before this, he worked as specialist finance account manager at OSB Group and spent several years in senior roles at Precise Mortgages.

Rob Jarvis has been hired by mortgage and protection brokerage, Access Financial Services, as their new business manager. As part of the role, he will report into mortgage sales and marketing director, Nick Jones, and will primarily be responsible for recruitment. Jarvis joins the firm from Envelop Finance, where he held a broker relationship manager role. He also worked at Roma Finance where he was the business development manager for the North East and Scotland, after spending 13 years working at Together as a senior telephone relationship partner and an intermediary relationship team leader.
