RAW Capital Partners has launched a new, lower fixed-rate product and has announced that it has more than £100m available to lend to foreign nationals and UK expats looking to purchase UK buy-to-let (BTL) properties. The Guernsey-based investment management firm, through its RAW mortgage fund, provides specialist BTL mortgages. The company doubled in size in 2023, now employing over 40 members of staff in Guernsey, Southampton and London, and it plans to grow the RAW mortgage fund from £175m to £1bn in the coming years. The product comes with an introductory rate of 6.00%, with loan sizes ranging from £500,000 to £4m on a single property, and up to £8.5m to a single borrower, at up to 65% LTV.

Residential by Foundation has appointed Ginny English to the role of regional account manager. She starts at the specialist residential mortgage brand of Foundation Home Loans with immediate effect and will be covering the East of England region. English was previously an internal business development manager with Foundation for the past two years and will look after, and develop, a range of advisory firm relationships in the region. She brings over 30 years of experience to the role, having worked as a mortgage adviser for both lenders and independent investors.

Scottish Friendly has appointed John McGuigan to the role of chair, alongside two new non-executive directors. McGuigan brings over 25 years’ experience to the role, having served across a range of senior executive levels. He was previously group customer director at Phoenix, and prior to that, was managing director at Telefonica and chief executive at NHS 24. He currently holds the position of chair at Scottish Financial Enterprise. The firm has also appointed Mai Fenton and Olive Gaughan as non-executive directors. Fenton currently serves on the board at Henderson International Income Trust and is director at How and When. Gaughan is currently a non-executive director at Canada Life Reinsurance Ireland and is a member of the Pensions Council in Ireland.
