News in brief - 15 May 2026

Glenhawk has made significant improvements to its AVM criteria. It now offers free AVMs on single residential properties up to 75% LTV in England, Scotland or Wales. AVMs can be used against more than one property per loan and will use a home track confidence score, which can be applied to loans up to £1.25m in London and £750,000 in other regions. The enhancements comes as part of an extension and upsizing of an existing £200m warehouse facility, provided by a long-term relationship bank of Glenhawk.

Word On The Street has appointed Jack Medlicott to its board of directors as a shareholder. The promotion follows his 10-month tenure as partner, during which his legal and operational expertise helped steer the firm to reach 202 completions, and nearly £90m in gross loan amount in the year-to-date. Medlicott brings over 15 years of experience in the legal and property sectors, specifically within the bridging and development space. Before joining Word on The Street, he held senior roles including partner at MSB and associate director at PLS Solicitors, where he managed lending books exceeding £200m for institutional PLCs and high-net-worth family offices.

District & County Investments (DCI) has successfully delivered a £220,000 net gross development exit facility to support an experienced SME developer in Aldershot. The facility, secured against a completed new-build three-bedroom semi-detached property, enabled the borrower to raise capital against a near-term complete unit. The funding has been used to complete on an auction land purchase, allowing the developer to recycle equity into their next project. DCI structured the facility at around 45% net LTV, with the 12-month term offers flexibility around the timing of exit, supporting both a sale of the completed unit or a potential buy-to-let refinance. The structure enabled the borrower to unlock capital efficiency from a completed asset, without being constrained by rigid exit timelines, while maintaining a conservative risk profile supported by strong local demand and comparable evidence.
