Two in five card payments made using contactless

Two in five card payments are now made using contactless technology, according to UK Finance.

The number of transactions using contactless rose 31 per cent in 2018 compared with the previous year, data has shown.

The contactless payment limit, before entering a four-digit Pin, is £30.

In 2017, debit card use overtook the number of payments made in cash in the UK for the first time.
