OMS and Monument Technology partner to implement mortgage origination platform

Monument Technology and One Mortgage System (OMS) have partnered to implement a "next generation" mortgage origination platform for Ecology Building Society.

The move is aiming to support the firm’s strategic ambition to double its mortgage lending.

As part of Monument’s Banking Platform as a Service (BPaaS), the implementation of the full OMS Originations journey enables the building society to provide an end-to-end process, including a broker portal, decision engine and full underwriting functionality.

The solution, which went live in October, will help enhance operational efficiency, improve broker and customer experience, and ensure mortgage cases can be processed with greater speed, accuracy and transparency.

Ecology Building Society was founded in 1981 and has been dedicated to financing homes and projects which deliver environmental and social benefits. In 2024, it lent £54m across 201 properties and projects, including affordable housing, sustainable businesses, self-builds, energy-efficient retrofits and conservation-focused woodland purchases.

Monument Technology’s BPaaS provides regulated banks and building societies with an end-to-end, modular and cloud-native solution for saving’s lending and payments, including mortgage origination, mobile apps and a web portal.

Managing director at OMS, Neal Jannels, said: "Ecology Building Society has always taken a distinctive approach to lending, grounded in values that support environmentally responsible finance.

"We’re proud to provide an originations platform that helps scale those values into a modern, digital mortgage journey - delivering the flexibility, efficiency, and transparency needed to meet borrower needs today while supporting sustainable growth for the future. Working alongside Monument Technology, this has been a fantastic project, and I applaud all three teams for getting this build implemented and launched in such a quick timescale."

Chief executive officer at Monument Technology, Steve Britain, added: "We are delighted to have partnered with OMS to deliver a transformative mortgage origination platform for Ecology Building Society, the first phase of Ecology’s adoption of our market leading, BPaaS solution.

"With savings and mortgage servicing to follow, Ecology’s members will soon benefit from the best technology available. It’s a wonderful example of three organisation coming together to deliver."
