News in brief - 20 October 2026

Landbay has appointed Daniel Bell as a new business development manager (BDM) for North Yorkshire, the North East and Scotland.

He joins from Newsource Commercial Finance in Harrogate, where he worked for over13 years, most recently as head of broker relations. Prior to this, he spent almost five years as a case and account manager at Newsource, managing cases across a wide range of property finance sectors.

Bell’s appointment is the latest investment Landbay has made in its sales operations during 2026 and follows the launch in July of its new telephone sales team.

StreamBank has launched a new high net worth (HNW) structured finance proposition, offering loans of up to £5m with terms of up to 60 months for borrowers whose repayment strategies require more time than traditional bridging finance allows.

The proposition is aimed at wealthy borrowers with credible repayment strategies who need greater flexibility over the time available to repay their finance. It can accommodate repayment strategies linked to the sale of higher-value properties, business disposals, share realisations and development completions, where the expected proceeds may not become available within a conventional 12-month term.

Loans are available from £350,000 to £5m at a maximum LTV of 65%, with facilities above £3m subject to additional approval.

Inspired Lending has become a patron of the National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (NACFB), giving the lender closer links with commercial finance brokers across the UK.

The new relationship will give NACFB member brokers access to Inspired Lending’s team and its range of short-term funding options, while giving the lender further opportunities to work directly with brokers through the association’s events, communications and wider member community.

Inspired Lending provides unregulated bridging and refurbishment finance secured against residential, semi-commercial and commercial property, alongside revolving credit facilities across Great Britain, with loans from £250,000 to £5m.

Martin Tullett has been appointed as CFO at BetterHome Group UK.

He brings nearly 20 years of financial experience, combining technical expertise with commercial leadership, business transformation and knowledge of the UK mortgage intermediary sector. Tullett began his career at EY before spending six years at Experian in a number of commercially focused finance roles.

He joins BetterHome Group UK after seven and a half years at Mortgage Advice Bureau, most recently serving as group finance director.

Together has appointed Mark Heyes as corporate sales director for Yorkshire.

He will be responsible for promoting the specialist lender's products, including bridging loans, commercial mortgages and development finance, to professional sector introducers and direct customers across the region.

Heyes began his career in financial services in 1986 at the former Midland Bank, and most recently worked in the private debt market, working on property deals up to £50m.
