Robert Half Financial Services are hiring a Hedge Accountant to join an independent financial risk management firm based in London's west end. The role sits within the European Hedge Accounting team which forms part of a team of qualified chartered accountants that focus exclusively on providing hedge accounting services to clients. The role is comprised of highly quantitative and technical accounting work and frequent consulting with clients at the highest levels of accounting and finance in their organisations. Members of this team spend time advising clients on the most suitable hedging strategies, running and analysing effectiveness tests, drafting hedge designation memos, creating inputs for future journal entries and running and reviewing monthly hedge accounting reports for clients. They develop an excellent understanding not only of the accounting but also of the underlying economics of interest rate, foreign exchange and commodities hedging, interacting daily with the firm's traders. The consultants are responsible for all relationships with the clients in their assigned portfolio, directly communicating with CFOs or Heads of Treasury.

The Person

The successful Hedge Accountant for this west end based financial risk management firm will be ACA qualified in practice, newly qualified up to three years of post qualified experience. Ideally the successful candidate will come from the banking and capital markets team with experience of IFRS9, however this is not essential. Applicants are welcome from any audit team within any size practice providing they can demonstrate a genuine interest in the field and a willingness to learn. Training will be provided.

Salary & Benefits

The Hedge Accountant for this west end based risk management firm will receive a salary of £60,000-£80,000 (highly dependent on experience) plus a company performance bonus and a discretionary personal bonus and benefits package.
