First Mortgage acquires KFH’s mortgage division

First Mortgage, which is part of Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB), has announced the acquisition of Kinleigh Folkard & Hayward’s (KFH’s) mortgage division for an undisclosed sum.

The company said the deal marks a “significant entry point” into the London property market, accelerating First Mortgage’s expansion strategy and increasing its presence across the South of England.

KFH, an estate agency group, has more than 50 branches across London and the move to integrate KFH’s mortgage division into First Mortgage will improve the brokerage’s ability to serve homebuyers across the capital.

As part of the acquisition, First Mortgage will be joined by KFH’s mortgage advisory team, led by Kelly Wicks and Malcolm Waldron.

First Mortgage CEO, Ian McGrail, said: “We’re genuinely excited to welcome Kelly, Malcolm, and their exceptional team into First Mortgage, whose reputation for professionalism and client care aligns perfectly with our own vision and values.

“Together, we look forward to building on their impressive legacy and supporting even more London customers with the high-quality advice they deserve.”

Distribution director at Mortgage Advice Bureau, Gareth Herbert, added: “First Mortgage’s entry into the London market via the KFH acquisition is a crucial step in MAB’s strategic expansion.

“We’re excited for the two firms to flourish through this partnership.”
